Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas
Halloween went off as planed for the creatures of Halloweentown and everyone is pleased. Everyone but the King of Halloweentown,
Jack Skellington. Jack feels depressed, bored and in a rut that he fears he will never escape.
That night he starts to walk with his fateful Ghost dog Zero and walked and walked all night. In the morning Jack finds
a forest with doors in the trees, strange shaped doors. Opening one he ends up in Christmastown. Suddenly, all the joyious
feelings of Christmas rushes through him, so much that he wants that feeling. The feeling of giving, so he takes, he has
three tricksters kidnap Santa Claus or Sandy Claws as Jack would call it.
Jack makes plans to put a new terrofying spin on the White Christmas and the trio takes Sandy to the only real monster
of Halloweentown, Oogie Boogie. Can Jack see the errors of his ways in time to save Sandy Claws from Oogie's stomach?
I am not the biggest Tim Burton fan. I'm not crazy with the changes he made to BATMAN, PLANET OF THE APES OF WILLEY WONKA.
But the man knows animagic. That's what they call this style of stop motion made famous by Rankin and Bass. The Nightmare
is funny, it's scary, it's touching. Everything you're looking for in a Holiday movie for the whole family. I give it...10
Monsters and Christmas? Doesn't sound like there's a connection, does it? But I give Tim Burton credit where credit is due,
THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS is a clever and unique piece. Worth watching over and over again. But if you are big in scares
in your Christmas or you don't celebrat e this holiday, then this isn't the movie for you, as for me I give it 10 STARS.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ MUSIC (The music is wonderful and memorible)
+ CAST (The voical cast did a mavelious job)
+ DANNY ELFMAN (I knew he was a great composer, but who knew he could act or sing?)
+ DARKLY FUNNY (We both loved the dark rich humor of the movie)
+ TOUCHING (It touches the heart and tugs the heart strings)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- MONSTERS AND CHRISTMAS (If you don't celebrate Christmas or you're the type that thinks monsters should stick to Halloween
movies, then this isn't the movie for you)
