Needing to find a replacement, they ask Kris to take the sleigh, which he does. He such a natural, they make him the store Santa where he meets a young Lady who has doubts Santa exists.

To make matters worse, when they find out he thinks he is Santa, they arrest him and place his identity on Trail. Can he prove he is the real Saint Nick in time for Christmas?

ZEDD'S OPINION:

This has some powerful perfomances from a great cast including Edmund Gwenn from THEM! fame and Natalie Wood of THE GREAT RACE fame. It also gives the reason Santa, if there is a Santa doesn't come out into the open, he would be locked up as a nut. I think this is a great classic, if a little on the dramatic and the slow side. I give MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, 8 STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I agree with Zedd, this is a masterpiece of drama. I wish they had more Fantasy about it. But if you like drama, then this is for you. I give it 7 STARS

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ PERFORMANCES (Some great performances from a great cast)
+ GREAT CAST (A great cast of vetren actors and Natalie Wood in her first major film)
+ STORY (Santa on trail for sanity, that makes sense)
+ INTENSE DRAMA (If you like intense Court Room drama, then this is for you)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- SLOW (We both wished it had more Fantasy and less Drama)
- DRY (Being mostly drama, it is kind of dry)

AND FINALLY...

- CHRISTMAS (If you don't celebrate this Religous Holiday, then this isn't the movie for you)
