THE PLOT:
The day was just like any other day, on any other Christmas season. But there was magic in the air as Teacher decides to
do something nice for the kids just before Christmas holiday, she hires Professor Hinkle, the world's worse magician.
But what no one knows, not even Professor Hinkle himself is his hat does contain real magic, as a Christmas sno prompts
the building of a snowman named Frosty, a gustof wind and the hat lands on Frosty's head. The magic in the hat brings the
artistic creation to life.
Hinkle wants the hat for it's magic and is will do anything to get it and keep Frosty from getting to the North Pole where
he'll be safe from melting once and for all.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
Frosty is a clasic, Jimmy Durante did a great job as the narrator. The voice cast was great, it's a true classic in every
sense of the word. A must, for all Rankin and Bass fans. No original music in this one, which is odd for Rankin and Bass.
I give it...9 STARS
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd on this, Frosty is one of my favorite Holiday specials, they do cut it short for more advertisments. So
I recommend the DVD version. A Christmas class for those who celebrate Christmas, you may not think it's so hot if you don't.
I give it 10 STARS.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ STORY (The story they plaed in to match the classic song really works)
+ VOICE OVER CAST (The cast did a great job)
+ JIMMY DIRANTE (A real star, a class act all the way)
+ ANIMATION (The animation was good, not great, but good)
+ DVD version (Watch the DVD version if you want the whole story)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- LACKS ORIGINAL MUSIC (The first Rankin and Bass speical without orignal songs)
AND FIANLLY...
- CHRISTMAS (If you don't celebrate Christmas, this isn't for you)
